No-Bid Contracts Are Fatal.

Thirteen Americans in Iraq have died due to electrocution. This is ridiculous. Depending on the stories 12 or 13 people have died to accidental electrocution. Who's responsible? The Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root(KBR). They were awarded a no-bid contract worth 200 million dollars, and consequently Congressmen have accused KBR of prices of importing gasoline into Iraq. Their contract is now worth over $2 billion dollars (nominally public bid).

Two soldiers have been killed in showers that have had faulty wiring. They have spent months in Iraq, working to fit "for the american people" putting their lives at risk multiple times only to die because of faulty electrical wiring?

Ridiculous.

Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, says 13 Americans were electrocuted in Iraq since September 2003 and a contractor has been ordered to inspect the facilities it maintains there for electrical safety hazards, a Pennsylvania senator said.

The military had acknowledged that 12 Americans died in Iraq from accidental electrocution. Sen. Bob Casey said he learned last week from Petraeus that 10 soldiers, one Marine and two private contractors died. Casey said he was not given details on the 13th fatality.
